Netcarity for health
Provision of long term, proactive, medical support to look after physical, emotional and social wellbeing
Scenario
Older people often feel tired and unmotivated in the evening and don’t cook dinner. Netcarity could gently propose appealing recipes based on what their nutritionist has advised they should eat, and what is in their refrigerator. It could also offer interactive presentations instructing them how to complete tasty, healthy dishes.
Sample technology
The Netcarity system will incorporate a smart gas sensor for intelligent fire detection. It will be able to detect both the presence and type of fire to determine the most appropriate response. The technology could be extended to recognise a broader range of contaminants and associate them with specific situations. It could isolate the smell of rotting food or tell if someone with incontinence needs assistance.
Who benefits?
- Netcarity can use technology to support a more proactive approach to healthcare for older users. This could reduce the need for professionals to constantly react to short term situations and increase the number of scenarios which can be accurately predicted and appropriately addressed
- The ability to evaluate and pre-empt helps caregivers ensure older people are looking after themselves without having to constantly respond to potential false alarms
Family can be assured that their relatives are receiving constant, long term medical support to look after their physical, emotional and social wellbeing
